RENOVATE CONSORTIUM has been consolidated on the principle of cross-sectorial and multi-actor approach.

The consortium has a clear objective to include all stakeholders and agents involved in the practical knowledge sharing through educational and training activities focused on European farmers and advisors, paying special attention to the generation of young farmers and the requirements from EU family-sized farms in terms of adoption of new technologies applied to agricultural management.

Project coordinator

Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC)

The project is coordinated by Emilio Gil, full professor of the Agricultural Machinery Unit (UMA), Technical University of Catalonia (UPC).

The research group is focused on the application of the latest technologies in the field, within the Department of Agri-food Engineering and Biotechnology (DEAB) of the UPC.

Partners

RENOVATE consortium includes relevant partners from the Academia (UPC, UNITO), well recognized EU R&D centres (INHORT, PCFRUIT, INRAe, STEMS), SMEs and spin-off focused on innovation management and digital solutions to be adapted to educational programs (Horta, Virmedex, Tallento, Artica), farmers’ associations for a maximised representation of final users (CACV, PEK), advisors (CPS, DATERRA) and local authorities (MOA, LAORE).

Agents in the sector

There is a complete representation of all the agents in the sector to intensify thematic cooperation (specific training and PPP application optimisation) between researchers, advisors and farmers to consolidate a network of practical knowledge through the improvement of capabilities and innovation uptake from the different angles.
